Yellingbo is a rural district 48 kn. east of Melbourne, south of Woori Yallock.

The district was originally named Claxton after the proprietor of the store and post office on the Woori Yallock Creek. The name later became Parslons Bridge, after the name of the son-in-law who became carried on the post office and store. In the 1930s the name was change to Yellingbo, after the last known Aboriginal inhabitant.

The township is at the corner of Parslons Road and the Healesville-Kooweerup Road, consisting of the general store, post office, primary school, public hall and fire brigade. Nearby on the Woori Yallock Creek and the Cockatoo Creek (which join near Parslons Bridge), is an important fauna reserve for the preservation of one of the Victorian State emblems, the Helmeted Honeyeater.

Further east is a third part of the reserve on Sheep Station Creek.

Yellingbo's census population was 79 in 1954.
