Women's Circus Women's Circus

The Women's Circus is a dynamic, contemporary arts and community company that presents innovative, circus performances to a large, diverse audience. Established in 1991, the Women's Circus is renowned for its ground-breaking productions combining circus, music, dance, theatre, cabaret and other theatrical forms performed by women of all abilities, ages and backgrounds. More than 1500 women have trained and performed with the Circus since its inception, and during this year's show another 150 will participate in artistic and technical areas.

In 2009 the Women's Circus turned 18 surviving as a community arts organisation in a competitive world. Women's Circus has a tradition of performing in unique and unusual venues in the western suburbs,

The Circus has presented 16 large-scale new works in Melbourne with total audiences estimated at more than 35,000 people. Many thousands more have come into contact with the Circus through its outreach programs, tours and festivals.
