Vital Arts: Signalling Practices

Taking place on Saturday 17 October, from 10am to 3pm at Kindred Studios in Yarraville, the day brings together young artists, teaching artists, youth workers, educators, researchers and anyone curious about the power of the arts.

Enjoy a packed program of live performances, creative workshops, panel discussions and a live podcast recording. Special performances from N'fa Jones and Cool Out Sun, MzRizk and L2R Dance will bring music, movement and energy to the celebration. There will also be a book launch with Mayor Cr Mohamed Semra, alongside opportunities to explore ideas, exchange experiences and imagine what comes next through the Imaging Futures Lab.

At the heart of Signalling Practices is a shared interest in what young people learn through making art together: collaboration, confidence, creative problem solving and the ability to support others. Drawing on the VITAL ARTS project, the festival opens up conversations about how these skills are recognised, valued and carried into working lives and community futures.

Come to discover new creative practices, meet people working across youth arts, or simply enjoy the performances and atmosphere. Whether you are already involved in the arts or looking for a place to begin, you are warmly invited.

With free entry and catering from the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre, Signalling Practices offers a welcoming day of making, listening, learning and connection in Melbourne's west.
