Fitzroy Victoria Bowling and Sports Club |
Lawn Bowls at Fitzroy Victoria is the number 1 place for social gatherings such as Birthdays, Bucks/Hens parties, Weddings or Social and Corporate events in Melbourne.
FVBSC is privileged to be the home of the national Australian Premier League team Melbourne Roys. The Fitzroy Victoria Bowling and Sports Club is part of the sporting precinct in the City of Yarra's historic Edinburgh Gardens.
The club is an amalgamation of the former North Fitzroy/Fitzroy Bowling Club (formed 1877), the Victoria Bowling Club (formed 1876) and the Edinburgh Park Ladies Club (formed in 1947).
When circumstances brought these clubs together in 2000 it marked the beginning of a new era in bowls: one of dedication and success both on and off the green.
Ever since the merger, the club has retained a solid commitment to being part of the local community and the goal of being a serious contender on the sporting field thanks to its dedicated members, strong committee, excellent facilities and great operations staff. In recent years the club has become a hive of activity most days and nights, and a renowned venue for social functions, corporate events and, of course, bowls.
Our facility is home to two synthetic bowling greens, which are open all year-round for social bowling, pennant competitions, training and major tournaments. Located in a vibrant inner-city location it is easily accessible by public transport and offers great disability access making it a prime club choice for young and old.
For more details on social bowling and social membership please head to the Barefoot Bowls page, or the Competition Bowls page for details on our pennant membership and coaching.
