Melbourne Home Show 2026: Renovation Ideas, Experts and Free Entry

Melbourne Home Show

Melbourne homeowners planning anything from a bathroom update to a major renovation can explore the latest products, services and building ideas when the Melbourne Home Show returns to South Wharf in August.

Running from Friday 21 to Sunday 23 August 2026, the show brings together more than 150 exhibitors spanning a broad cross-section of the home improvement industry. Visitors can compare products, speak directly with suppliers and specialists, request advice and quotes, and investigate options before committing to a project.

The exhibitor line-up covers kitchens and bathrooms, flooring, windows and doors, heating and cooling, solar and energy efficiency, building products, architects and designers, renovation specialists, landscaping, outdoor living, pools and spas, home security, smart-home technology, storage, furniture and window furnishings.

That breadth makes the event particularly useful for renovators who need to make interconnected decisions. Rather than researching individual suppliers separately, visitors can compare materials, technologies and approaches in person and take plans or photographs along when seeking advice from exhibitors.

Energy efficiency has a substantial presence in the 2026 exhibitor directory, with businesses covering solar power and batteries, heat pumps, efficient heating and cooling, double glazing and other technologies designed to improve household energy performance. Solar Victoria and the Victorian Energy Upgrades program are also represented among the exhibitors.

Home Inspo Stage

Education remains an important part of the Melbourne Home Show, with free presentations providing practical information alongside the exhibition stands.

The Home Inspo Stage will be hosted by interior designer and television presenter James Treble. With more than 30 years of experience across interior design, property and the building industry, Treble is also known for his television work on Open Homes Australia and Renovate or Rebuild.

Design experts appearing on the stage will discuss practical ideas, current trends and considerations for home projects, giving visitors another way to gather information before making renovation and design decisions.

Garden Hub

Outdoor projects have their own dedicated area at the 2026 show. The Garden Hub, crafted by ShapeScaper, focuses on landscaping and the design of functional outdoor spaces.

Visitors will be able to examine different profiles, finishes and configurations of steel garden edging and planter systems and see how they can be incorporated into contemporary and more naturalistic landscapes. The ShapeScaper team will also be available to discuss design, installation and durability.

The feature is aimed at both substantial landscaping projects and smaller backyard improvements, adding an outdoor dimension to a show that also covers the major components of building, renovating and furnishing a home.

Products, Advice and Show Specials

The Melbourne Home Show is designed as both a research and purchasing event. Most exhibitors sell products at the show, and a range of event-specific discounts and offers will be available across participating stands.

Visitors can use the show's online exhibitor directory before arriving to identify relevant businesses and create a shortlist. The organisers also provide Home Show Faves for planning a shopping list, while a dedicated Show Specials section brings together participating offers.

The range extends well beyond decorative products. The 2026 directory includes specialists in structural alterations, extensions, custom cabinetry, waterproofing and shower repairs, attic storage, residential lifts and stairs, pools, outdoor kitchens, security doors, blinds, decking, cladding and tiny and portable homes.

For people still at the planning stage, architects, designers, builders, renovation specialists, finance providers and property services are also represented, allowing visitors to investigate both the practical and financial sides of a home project.

Prizes at the Melbourne Home Show

A 4-metre Micro Home from Elsewhere Pods is the major prize for the August show. Valued at $68,000, the prize can be entered by scanning a visitor ticket at the participating Elsewhere Pods stand, with terms and conditions applying.

Other announced prizes include a Springfree Compact Oval Trampoline, an air-quality upgrade, an Invisi-Gard security door and an air conditioner. Entry arrangements vary by prize and require visitors to scan their tickets at the relevant exhibitor stands.
